Commercial Services
Service work
We have engineers who are serviced trained on the MHS Strata range condensing modular boilers and with the Riello burner RS forced draught range. We also have a wide experience with Remeha boilers, Potterton and Ideal boilers to name a few.
We undertake all air heated appliances and wet heated systems. We recommend all appliances be maintained to a minimum of every 12 months.
Installation reports
On a number of occasions we have produced full reports regarding the current condition and safety condition of gas installations in both the Commercial and domestic fields. The reports can be detailed with photographic evidence.
Breakdown Cover
We carry out breakdown works at pre determined rates charged per hour per mile. All materials are charged with agreed uplift.
Examples of Commercial Work
- Descale of Ideal Super Concord modular boiler
- We have undertaken a number of the dry side descales to these boilers. Which involves removing the module from the boiler housing and dipping with a mild acid to clear debris from the copper finned modules. This process we have found is often overlooked in the long term maintenance of these boilers, however it is stipulated within the manufacturers instructions.
- Descale of Keston 170
- Another boiler that we have carried out a number of descales this time using a mild Ds40 solution. Most times the descale is carried out with the boiler in position and the system should not require draining. Although there is no recommendation for this from the manufacturer as a regular maintenance regime it maybe something that is discovered necessary following routine maintenance.
- Commercial Flue and ventilation works
- Centraplumb has been involved in several remedial works requiring the replacement of commercial flue installations or the retro fit of fan assisted flue/vent systems. A recent project was to Install a inverter driven Exhausto flue fan to a commercial flue and incorporate high and low level mechanical ventilation for a care home which had three boilers leaking Flue products. (This was something that had been discovered during a routine breakdown attendance by one of our service engineers- the installation at the time was shut down for safety reasons)
- Purging both direct and indirect of gas installations.
-
Recent works include the nitrogen purge and decommission of a 100 year old primary school on the English south coast. The project involved an initial survey of the site over two days to detail all redundant legs, calculating purge points, purge volumes and times
The job was planned with method statements provided to the client the area was controlled to avoid public traffic. Some of the work was done at height requiring scaffolding. Before work was commenced the equipment was set up the day before including the erection of a 6 mtr scaffold tower. On satisfactory purge times and sampling by gascoseeker the redundant pipe work was removed. The removal of the pipe work took a further three days due to the working at height complexity and the sheer volume. At the end of the project over 160 metres of steel pipe work was removed ranging from ½″ to 2½″ steel.
